Educational planning in contemporaneity: managers’ vision over public schools at Recife and Olinda
Abstract
This research focuses on the study of educational planning, aimed at the Municipal Education Plan of two cities – Recife and Olinda. The research followed an exploratory approach. Three school administrators, four vice-managers and four pedagogical coordinators from four schools were interviewed, two from Recife and two from Olinda; they added to the notion of the educational planning experienced in public schools. Main findings show that Recife and Olinda’s plans signaled towards a global notion of educational planning, systematizing different dimensions to accomplish a quality public education. It was noticeable that the school administrators do not share the same view about the educational planning presented in the plans.
