The milieu analysis as a methodological option for the initial training of Geography teachers: an experience report compiled in the historic cities of Vale do Rio Paraíba do Sul Paulista
Abstract
This experience report is about a study carried out in the historic cities of Vale do Rio Paraíba do Sul Paulista, developed in a class taught at the University of São Paulo (USP) for undergraduates Geography teachers-to-be. The stages in the development of this work are described and analyzed, assessing its importance for teacher training and constructing a reference that contributes to the development of other experiences at different levels of education. Activities are supported by the theoretical and methodological framework of the milieu analysis and the student leadership. The experience was carried in 2018, its stages were followed by a project of participant observation and production; the results of the chosen teaching procedures, testimonials from students and evaluation of the proposal were analyzed. The development of this project allowed students to apprehend a meaningful knowledge aided by a freedom to elaborate projects; by the use of an active methodology with authorial productions; by discussions of contemporary themes and by the production of resources and teaching materials based on new media - which highlight the pedagogical potential of the practice presented.
