Abstract

This paper analyses the process of teaching force's feminization, in Latin-America (1870—1930). We discuss the relationship between the feminization of this profession, the building and expansion of national education systems, and the elaboration and diffusion of different kinds of idenfity (especially gender and national identities). This article is organized around "Key-words ", so as: sexual difference, sexual division of labor, public and private, educator State, feminine education, teaching profession, teacher's education and feminization of the teaching profession.
